    The Nike Kobe 4 Protro "Lightning" is exclusive to China, paying tribute to the legacy Kobe Bryant left behind for a generation of young hoopers across the country.

    This special edition Kobe 4 was created in honor of the CHBL (China High School Basketball League), where Kobe’s impact runs deeper than just name recognition. He helped launch the league into the spotlight and instilled a standard of discipline that still defines it today. The colorway draws inspiration from one of his most memorable coaching moments at the Kobe Academy in Shanghai. During a sprint drill, a player failed to touch the baseline. Kobe stopped everything, made the player run it again—and joined him for the final sprint. His now-iconic message: “Touch the line.”

    The shoe features a bold yellow “Lightning” upper with black and silver detailing, symbolic of the relentless energy and grit that Kobe demanded. It's built for those who train in the shadows and rise with purpose—a nod to the CHBL athletes who continue to carry his mantra into every practice and game.

    While this Protro release is exclusive to China for now, the storytelling and execution may spark demand worldwide.
